MISTER NATURAL

LEATHER & LUGGAGE

Repair for Hijinx Theatre Cardiff Bay

WEST BUTE STREET VETERINARY HOSPITAL
Surgeon: Mister Natural Leather & Luggage ....and sheep
Patient: Ms Dolly Barnaby

After flash floods on Independence Day 2001, fears of theatre goers were raised around the world by reports that famous celebrity stage actress,  Dolly Barnaby,  may not survive after being discovered  floating unconscious for several hours  in her flooded dressing room at the HIJINX THEATRE, CARDIFF

Ms Barnaby was  rushed  to the nearby  Veterinary Hospital based in the grounds of the leather and luggage department of newly qualified Veterinary Surgeon, Mister Natural, where resuscitation, extensive surgery and dedicated aftercare was undertaken in a desperate bid to save her life. Over the following critical months the busy hospital was inundated by cards and creative bouquets of freshly cut grass pouring in on a daily basis for Dolly and, unbeknown to her, building work commenced on the spectacular  WALES MILLENIUM CENTRE  - a glorious showcase for her theatrical talents with luxury living quarters to the rear, so ensuring that an actress of her magnifcent calibre would never again be faced with a damp dressing room which could so easily and tragically become a cold watery death trap.   On her way home from the hospital, Dolly confided  rather sheepishly  to delighted passers-by  that she had previously considered deserting the stage in favour of screen stardom but, having seen the new residence built entirely in her honour, would never again harbour thoughts of leaving her devoted fans. As a way of thanking them for such loyalty,   Dolly wanted to share some of her hospital experiences and asked if we could release the following confidential records to her public:

DOLLY ON ADMISSION

Patient Dolly arrives in critical condition
from drowning, with hair loss due to water
induced ulceration and severe foot rot.

During Dolly's fleeting moments of near
consciousness,  signs of traumatic shock
show clearly in her startled eyes.

POST SURGERY

Despite still being somewhat drowsy
 from the anaesthetic, Dolly's captivating
glamour & beauty is once again visible.

Dolly warily notes that her first  hospital
meal includes the option of Mint Sauce
and curls up an ear in alarm and disgust

After supper, Veterinary Assistant Mr G
takes Dolly for her first walk around the
hospital ward and picturesque grounds.

After the first few months, bored Dolly is
assigned to Occupational Therapy twice
weekly to help out in the Reception Area.

Though it is sometimes too exhausting
and she is often found asleep at the desk
causing occasional panic amongst staff.

Discharged on 25.11.05,  Dolly bids her
fond and somewhat dramatic farewell to
one of the hospital's volunteer workers.

Finally on her way home, Dolly is clearly
overwhelmed as her glorious new abode
comes into view over the top of the step.

To loud applause, Dolly gives an impromptu
street performance of Hamlet's Soliloquy:
'To Baa or Not to Baa - that is the question'
